JSC International Sugar Corporation (ISC JSC) is actively working to attract financing for the project from co-investor of sugar plant in the Rostov region. This was reported to Vedomosti Yug by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the region.

"Currently, with the attraction of financing, it is possible to start the active stage of the project," the ministry said.

It is specified that the investor has updated the main parameters of the project, including updated the technical conditions for connection to utility networks.

One of the potential investors of the project was Chinese CNMET LTD. But, as Larisa Panteleeva, CEO of ISC JSC, explained to RBC Rostov in March 2023, "the Chinese investor (turned out to be) on pause until the geopolitical situation improves." At the same time, Panteleeva stated that the construction of the plant was planned to begin in summer, 2023.

In a comment to Vedomosti Yug, Panteleeva said it is "too early" to disclose information about a potential co-investor.

At the end of 2022, the amount needed for the construction of a sugar plant in the Rostov region was estimated at 21.7 billion rubles.
